It’s official! Our house renovations are finally underway! Who knows when we’ll get to flooring and paint, but the point is that we have finished this little project to spur along our bigger renovation projects – and that little project is… THE FIREPLACE! You knew that because of the title, but still. I’m so excited to share this project with you because I’ve been anxious to do some kind of project for months now and now that I’ve finally started and finished one, I’m pumped to do the rest. I’m so proud of how it turned out!
So without further ado, here are the before photos of the fireplace. It was a brass plated steel and just looked dated and tacky.
Here are the after pictures! I masked everything off with masking tape and paper, scuffed the finish with a light grit sandpaper, and used a high heat tolerable black spray paint to cover the brass finish.
I’m so happy with how this turned out! I love the matte finish and how sleek it looks! I am excited to see what prospective buyers think of this update as well. It was fairly quick and easy, which is right up my alley since I have a baby and don’t have a lot of free time on my hands. Obviously the house isn’t perfect and picked up in these photos – and that’s okay! This is real life, people. I’m just thrilled with the facelift that I ignored the other junk in the way. If you have any fun projects you’ve completed or projects you’d like to see me do, leave them in the comments below! I’d love to hear your ideas!
Have a great week!
