Back to Goals: How to Spend the Back to School Season When You’re Not in School

Happy Saturday, everyone! Back to school season is upon us and if you’re no longer in school, and if you’re like me, then you miss it! Back to school shopping, planning, all of it is behind us and I can sometimes think, “Would it be so bad if I bought a binder and a pack of pens? Really?” Then, reality sets in and I say, “No. I’m not in school. Get over yourself and move on. You don’t need that stuff.”

So this leaves people like you and I wondering what to do during all the hubbub of a back-to-school season? Well, I have come up with something that has satiated my desire for buying binders, backpacks, pens, and new school clothes. It is… *drumroll please* back-to-goals season! I realized that the most inspiring thing about the back to school season, minus the fact that it means that FALL IS COMING, is that it means the chance to set new goals, accomplish bigger things, and be one year closer to whatever goals you have for after school and college. So, what I have decided to do is make the back to school season like my New Year’s Resolution time. I never did get into New Year’s Resolutions. But, I feel like this might stick. Fall is my favorite season and I feel like it is just bursting with inspiration so my goals are more likely to get accomplished than if I tried to come up with them in the dead of winter.

Without further ado, here is my list of goals for this back to goals season! Let me know your goals in the comments and we can keep each other accountable! 🙂

  1. Continue my workout regimen
  2. Renovate our house
  3. Sell our house
  4. Downsize enough so that we don’t need too much storage when we begin living full-time in our camper
  5. Finish my last Gen Ed and get my degree
  6. Downsize my wardrobe
  7. Continue with my blog and be intentional about creating an audience for it
  8. Get back into photography
  9. Be more creative with meal prep and recipes
  10. Less TV, more activities
  11. Research and implement ways to make some money on the side as a stay-at-home mom

I think that’s ambitious enough for one season! I’ll be making a new list if and when I finish this one! I hope you’re inspired to create your own goals list and accomplish great things this season!

Have a good weekend!
